The Lifeline is a quarterly e-newsletter published by Contemplatives in Action. The Lifeline serves as an educational publication with the purpose of providing information about the current situation of New Orleans, resources for prayer, reflection, and volunteering, and updates about our ministry . View our latest edition here. A lifeline, as defined by the American Heritage Dictionary, is an anchored line thrown to assist someone who is in crisis or distress. It is a support that enables people to survive or continue on, often by providing an essential connection. A lifeline can also be a means or route by which necessary supplies are transported. CIA’s Lifeline serves as an essential connection between the people of New Orleans and the larger community. We hope that through its existence, New Orleanians will be encouraged and supported by their neighbors, near and far. The Lifeline can also serve as the path by which resources—prayers, financial support, stories, pieces of inspiration—can be transported into and out of New Orleans.
