The Just Faith group that Contemplatives in Action has been hosting recently completed their 30-week journey.  This intentional time of faith sharing and learning about justice issues has proven invaluable to the lives of participants.  The members are now currently discerning where they are being called after they have completed the Just Faith program.
The New Orleans chapter of Food not Bombs has met at the house a couple times as they try to figure out the best way to respond to a hunger for food and community here in the city. Other groups that have used the house recently are Mental Health of Louisiana, and members of the Episcopalian Diocese of New Orleans.
Former CIA interns, Sammie Mangino and Michael Navarette came to visit and work right after Mardi Gras. They assisted with house chores and lining up work projects for our Thoughtful Response Teams.
A number of volunteer groups have visited over Christmas and Spring Break, including Santa Clara University, Providence College, The Jesuit School of Theology, Regis Jesuit High School, Bishop Guertin High School, St. Mary’s Student Parish from Michigan University, Gannon University, Duchesne University, Marquette University, Fordham University, Christian Brothers High School, St. Joseph’s Preparatory School, Mercy High School, Wheeling Jesuit University (two times!), Central Connecticut State University, and the University of Notre Dame.  Our last 3 Thoughtful Response Teams come from St. Joseph’s Preparatory School.
And finally, many local non-profits continue to use our Xerox printer for brochures and flyers!
